Museum Overview

The Museum of Zoology [Museu de Zoologia] (MZ) is located in the Ipiranga district, Southeast Zone of the city of São Paulo. The purpose of the Zoology Museum (MZ) is to contribute to scientific advancement and the establishment of public policies in biodiversity through high-quality scientific research integrated with teaching and referenced by international standards; to train excellent research professors through its postgraduate and postdoctoral programs, and to contribute to undergraduate teaching in a manner inseparable from its research activities; to offer cultural products and non-formal education (outreach) to various segments of society through its long-term, temporary, and travelling public exhibitions.
