The Museum of Contemporary Art [Museu de Arte Contemporânea] (MAC) is located in the Vila Mariana district, South-Central Zone of the city of São Paulo. The mission of MAC is to promote the study and dissemination of its collection, ensuring its conservation, protection, enhancement, and expansion, as well as its recognition as Brazilian artistic heritage both in Brazil and abroad. Additionally, the Museum seeks to develop teaching, research, and outreach activities in the areas of Art Museology, Art History, Theory and Criticism, and Education and Art in Museums. It aims to encourage scientific and cultural exchange with related institutions in Brazil and abroad and to promote contemporary artistic production.
