School Overview

The mission of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School [Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto] (FMRP) is to provide excellence in higher education, training health professionals with a high level of qualification and leadership potential, grounded in ethical, moral, scientific, and humanistic principles. The school is committed to developing qualified researchers through its graduate programs and producing high-quality, innovative research with international reach, pushing the boundaries of knowledge while being attentive to societal needs. Additionally, it maintains ongoing interaction with the public sector and society to promote quality healthcare and disseminate new knowledge. FMRP aims to be recognized nationally and internationally as a model of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and in the training of specialized professionals. This recognition is based on the ethics, competence, entrepreneurship, and leadership of its graduates, the unique quality of its scientific production, and the social impact of its health promotion activities. FMRP values social commitment through:

  • Training health professionals and researchers.
  • Producing and disseminating new knowledge, thereby contributing to the scientific, technological, and cultural development of the country.
  • Addressing community health needs.
  • Engaging with the public sector to help define priorities and public policy strategies.

FMRP is dedicated to continuously improving education, research, and outreach activities, fostering innovation and creativity in a planned and integrated manner, and striving for excellence.
