USP Campus Piracicaba is located 150 km from São Paulo City. The “Luiz de Queiroz” College of Agriculture [Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de Queiroz”] (ESALQ) and the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture [Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura] (CENA) are situated on the campus. Numerous research activities in various areas of agriculture, husbandry and forestry are conducted on the campus and at ESALQ’s experimental stations. Covering an area of 914 hectares, with the majority consisting of experimental fields, the “Luiz de Queiroz” campus encompasses approximately 200,000 m2 of built-up area, including libraries, the Center for Informatics [Centro de Informática] (CIAGRI) and the Center for Physical Education, Sports and Recreation [Centro de Educação Física, Esportes e Recreação]. In addition to this area in Piracicaba, ESALQ is also responsible for the Experimental Stations of Anhumas, Anhembi and Itatinga, spanning 2,910 hectares.
