The Lorena Campus is the newest campus of USP. Located in the Paraíba Valley [Vale do Paraíba], 180 km from São Paulo City, it is surrounded by the Mantiqueira, Bocaina, and Mar Mountain ranges [Serras da Mantiqueira, da Bocaina e do Mar]. The region has experienced significant development in recent decades and is an important technological hub that is rapidly growing.
