VivaUSP! – Online Portuguese Course for USP Exchange Students
The University of São Paulo offers Viva USP, a free course that is part of the university’s internationalization efforts. The course allows participants to become familiar with the cultural and institutional contexts of USP, while also learning common Brazilian Portuguese language structures through dramatized scenes.
The course is innovative, dynamic, and accessible through an intuitive and interactive platform. It is designed for those interested in studying abroad at USP as well as for those already studying or conducting research at the university.
Comprising 10 chapters, the course includes 30 hours of self-instruction and is recommended for learners with an A1 level of Portuguese. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate.

Brazilian culture and language for exchange students (PROAID Línguas)
This course will provide international exchange students with linguistic knowledge to help them understand and use the Portuguese language both inside and outside the academic context.
The classes will be offered in-person at the AUCANI building, Block B, 3rd floor, rooms 1A/B and 4 (Avenida Prof. Lucio Martins Rodrigues, 310, Cidade Universitária, 05508-020 – São Paulo, SP).
