Museum of Archaeology
and Ethnology (MAE)

The Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology (MAE) aims to build up collections and carry out teaching, research, and university outreach activities in archaeology, ethnology, and museology. MAE promotes the study, protection, enhancement, and communication of Brazil’s archaeological and ethnological heritage, as well as the collections of external origin in its custody.

MAE is located in the University City Butantã district, west side of São Paulo (state capital).
