Length of stay and visa categories
IT IS NECESSARY TO REQUEST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TEMPORARY VISAS:
- I – Research or teaching
- IV – Study (bachelor, master or doctoral degree)
- XIII – Mercosul
Researchers and professors that will develop academic activities (research, teaching, scientific dissemination) in a period of more than 90 days WITHOUT AN EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP must request the VITEM I, without having to request the PREVIOUS RESIDENCE AUTHORIZATION.
Researchers and professors who will develop academic activities (research, teaching, scientific dissemination) in a period of more than 90 days and WITH AN EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP must contact the Local International Office (CCInt/CRInt) of the USP School where they will be registered to request the VITEM I WITH the need to request a PREVIOUS RESIDENCE AUTHORIZATION, available at the MigranteWeb System.

It is highly relevant that all questions regarding documents, procedures, dates, and requirements related to the visa emission are forwarded directly to the Brazilian Consular Office in which the visa will be requested.
