Institute Overview
The Oceanographic Institute [Instituto Oceanográfico] (IO) aims to provide teaching, conduct research, engage in cultural activities, and offer community services in the field of oceanography. IO is located on the São Paulo Campus, in the University City [Cidade Universitária] (Butantã district), west side of the city of São Paulo.
The Oceanographic Institute (IO) is composed of two departments (name and code):
- Department of Biological Oceanography (IOB)
- Department of Physical, Chemical, and Geological Oceanography (IOF)
