School Overview

The School of Dentistry [Faculdade de Odontologia] (FO) aims to: (i) promote and develop all forms of dental knowledge and related areas through teaching, research, and providing services; (ii) develop, improve, and teach undergraduate, refresher, specialist, and graduate courses in dentistry to train qualified professionals; (iii) encourage, promote, and coordinate research projects essential to the development of dentistry and the oral health needs of the community; (iv) organize and promote educational and service activities for the community to address their health problems; and (v) establish exchanges and contribute to other institutions in achieving their objectives. FO is located on the São Paulo Campus, in the University City [Cidade Universitária] (Butantã district), west side of the city of São Paulo.

The School of Dentistry (FO) is composed of seven departments (name and code):
  • Department of Biomaterials and Oral Biology (ODB)
  • Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthetics, and Traumatology (ODC)
  • Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry (ODO)
