Coronavirus

How does the pandemic affect activities at the University of São Paulo and USP International Cooperation Office?

*updated on September 14th, 2021.

The University of São Paulo is following guidelines of the Brazilian Health Service, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Updates are communicated continually to USP Community.

In light of the current developments relating to the spread of the COVID-19 around the world, USP has taken some measures to slow the spreading of the virus and reduce its severity avoiding any risks for the incoming and outgoing students and staff:

– INCOMING. USP has temporarily suspended all visits and classes on campuses since March 17, 2020. At this time, classes and meetings are conducted virtually. For the year 2021, the offer of virtual disciplines will depend on the decision of each USP School or Faculty. Access here the official communication from  to USP’s faculties and international offices for INCOMING procedures.

– OUTGOING. We firmly reaffirm the orientation that international travel for students, teachers, and technical staff be postponed. Under specific conditions, it will be made more flexible to travel abroad with duration from 6 months (180 days), according the Special Working Group. Access here the official communication from  to USP’s faculties and international offices for OUTGOING procedures.

ATTENTION! Travel abroad continues to be suspended for a period still unknown for travel abroad. But these will be resumed as soon as conditions permit. Any scholarships or even the vacancies granted will be maintained, but eventually it is necessary to postpone the trip. We also inform that the procedures must be carried out, but not the purchase of tickets. The trip can only be confirmed when it is allowed by the USP Rector. We recommend that students look for their local international offices for further information. All our calls have recently been adjusted with this information, allowing trips to take place until December of 2021.

USP International Cooperation Office serves all only by institutional e-mails. The contacts of the technical staff can be found here.

The activities of the Federal Police and the Academic Reception Office have changed:
